VTA Awards Power Shift $20,000

VTA (Vermont Telecom Authority) awards Power Shift $20,000.

The VTA Grant Committee has targeted some innovating technology in the effort to bring High Speed Internet access to Vermonters.  This year's grants will utilize Wi-Fi Hot Spots in the towns of Elmore and Hardwick.  Power Shift was selected to deploy this new Wi-Fi Network.

 
Mailbox Policy

Power Shift's mail box quota is 100mb.  Due to a problem with our software some mailboxes were going over their limits. 

We will be implementing quotas on all mailboxes. 

The best practice is to use an E-Mail client to download your email and store it on your computer. 

 
Mac Mail NTLM Setting

If you are a Mac user using Mac Mail and are having issues sending or receiving mail please check your account settings and verify that your account is using password authentication and not NTLM.

These settings are located in the advanced section of your account settings.

Blocking SMTP Port 25...

Due to the ever increasing issue with SPAM email being sent from compromised systems, Power Shift will be blocking SMTP port 25 for all outbound connections as of 02/01/08.Customers that use Power Shift for email services will not be effected.

If you are a customer that connects through the Power Shift network but use another company for email you will need to contact that company to see how they handle these issues. Verizon, Comcast and many other providers block port 25. If you have any question please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your cooperation in assisting us to better protect you as a customer
